1. Subscription Overview

RooMate offers a paid "Priority" feature designed to increase profile visibility during relevant arrival periods. Subscriptions are processed securely via Stripe.

2. Subscription Renewals

Priority subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled, may be cancelled at any time through account settings, and remain active until the end of the current billing period.

3. Refund Eligibility

Because Priority is a digital service that becomes active immediately upon purchase, refunds are generally not provided once the subscription period has started. However, refunds may be considered in the following cases:

  • Duplicate payment
  • Accidental double charge
  • Technical error resulting in non-activation of Priority
  • Billing error caused by the platform

Refund requests must be submitted within 7–14 days of the charge.

4. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be issued for:

  • Change of mind
  • Lack of matches
  • No messages received
  • User inactivity
  • Cancellation after the billing cycle has begun
  • Dissatisfaction unrelated to a technical fault

Priority increases visibility but does not guarantee responses, bookings, or outcomes.

5. Cancellation

Users may cancel their subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals and does not provide a partial refund for the current billing period.

6. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy affects statutory consumer rights under UK law.

Important UK Legal Note

Under UK law, digital services that start immediately after purchase may waive the 14-day cooling-off period if the user agrees to immediate access and acknowledges loss of right to cancel.
