As a UK-based dentist, Pilates instructor, coach, and Airbnb Superhost with 70 five-star reviews- I have spent my career in service of other people's wellbeing. But it was my own experience of moving across cities, arriving somewhere new, and needing a safe place to live that made me realise how broken the housing search is for women. I know the fear. The uncertainty of trusting a stranger with your address before you've ever met them. The exhaustion of scrolling through listings hoping the person on the other end is who they say they are. The moment you hand over a deposit and just have to hope. No woman should have to navigate that alone. I built RooMate in four months as a solo non-technical founder - while working full time as a dentist -because I believe trust is not a feature. It is the whole point.
